Champions of champions battle in the

FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP FINAL

The best clubs from each region of the football world will meet in Japan next month to test their skills on the international stage in the FIFA Club World Cup presented by Toyota 2007/2008.

On Sunday 16 December at 10:50pm, SBS will broadcast the fourth FIFA Club World Cup final from the International Stadium Yokohama.

The FIFA Club World Cup is a ten-day tournament participated by the top clubs from all six continental football confederations: CAF (Africa), UEFA (Europe), AFC (Asia), CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean), OFC (Oceania) and CONMEBOL (South America) to determine the best football club in the world.

Day one of the knock-out competition will see Iran’s Sepahan compete against the Oceania champion, New Zealand’s Waitakere United for the final place in the six club tournament with Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds, Tunisia’s Etoile Sportive du Sahel, Italy’s AC Milan, Mexico’s Pachuca and Argentina’s Boca Juniors all making their tournament debut.

“The FIFA Club World Cup is a spectacular football exhibition where sides not only compete for club glory but will also fly the flag for their country and their football confederation and SBS will broadcast the best of the best as they compete for the ultimate title,” said Ken Shipp, SBS Head of Sport.

Brazilian clubs have dominated the tournament, tenaciously and skilfully guarding the title since the competition’s inception in 2000. The 2007 FIFA Club World Cup will see a new club and country crowned champions.

SBS’s Andrew Orsatti and Chief Football Analyst, Craig Foster will present the FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday 16 December at 10:50pm.
