ARRAIAL DO BRACCA 2022 Produced by VR PRODUCTIONS is a traditional Brazilian Country festival, Celebrated for most of the Portuguese-speaking countries across the globe. For over 25 years, the volunteers of Brazilian Community Council of Australia – BRACCA produced a wide variety of mid-large cultural events, attracting attendees from all over Australia. of the most renowned entertainment producers in australia, VR productions records on its history, hundreds of large productions for Latin American audiences, hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed countless nights under VR’s commands during its XX years of activity and today, joining strengths to BRACCA, both organisations aim to end this pandemic period with the best Country festival in Australia for the whole family!
WHAT IS ARRAIAL
"Arraial" is variation of "Festa Junina" which is the term used to describe the traditional festivities that happen at the beginning of the Brazilian winter in June/July.
It is a season to commemorate some of the most famous saints for Catholics, namely Saint Anthony, Saint John the Baptist, and Saint Peter. It is also a month to honor rain, the harvest season and marital union.
Visitors celebrate from mid-June until the end of July and in some cities, festivities even continue until late August.
Those attending will be treated to typical Brazilian food, will dress up in specific costumes, enjoy bonfires and dance the quadrilha.
After Carnival, it is the second most important popular celebration in Brazilian culture.

Founded and managed by volunteers for over 28 years, the Brazilian Community Council of Australia (BRACCA) is an extremely important not-for-profit organisation recognised by the Brazilian and the Australian Government, created to promote culture and social support for the Brazilian community in Australia and became one of the most reputable NGO institutions in NSW.
In 2022, coming out from a pandemic scenario, the institution’s goals are to continuing to provide social support through programas, such as the award-winning mental health program, BRACCCA MIND and to bring back our traditional events which combined, gathered over 30K people every year, showcasing the Brazilian culture in Australia.
Our volunteers are working hard developing surveys to understand the current needs of our community and how to address and advocate for the interests of the Portuguese-speaking community withing the Australian and Brazilian governments. As a result of the changes and challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisation is diving deep into its past to ensure our identity and purposes remain effective and relevant in the post-pandemic world and securing the existing socio-cultural services continue to be delivered to people who need it the most.
In the first semester of 2022 BRACCA is proud of launching a new department which is being developed to facilitate access of essential services such as Legal advice, Women in vulnerable conditions, Charity initiatives and services that promotes Human Equity; BRACCA CARE is fundamentally based on pathways and exclusive agreements with other organisations, and will offer instructions and guidance in Portuguese languagem, allowing applicants to acess free services offered by our partners.
